ASTM E84 - Surface Burning Characteristics
Conclusions: Based on one test, the flame spread calculated according to ASTM E-84, meets Class A - 25 or under flame spread
Test Results
ASTM E96 - Water Vapor Transmission Rate
ASTM D 6904
Standard Practice for Resistance to Wind-Driven Rain for Exterior Coatings Applied to Masonry
Enamo Grip, exhibited a 0.16 lb weight gain and no visible dampness on the uncoated side, when tested in accordance with ASTM D 6904
The submitted coating conforms to the requirements of the superseded Federal Specification TT-C-555B, as tested.
ASTM D 7088
Standard Practice for Resistance to Hydrostatic Pressure for Coatings Used in Below Grade Applications Applied to Masonry
Sample of ENAMO Grip does not exhibit any water droplets or blistering when tested in accordance with procedures outlined in ASTM D 7088.
ASTM D5894 - Blistering and Rusting Evaluation
5000 Hours of Exposure in Ultraviolet and Salt-Spray Chambers
Three coupons coated with Rust Grip plus Enamo Grip coating were tested according to ASTM D5894 for 5000 hours of exposure. The average dry film thickness of the coating on the coupon was 14 mils.
The coating system shows no signs of blistering after 5000 hours of exposure. Some blistering is noted on the edges of the two coupons; however this is deit to the edge effect and not due to the deficiency in the coating. The UV radiation causes discoloration of the coating but does not affect its corrosion resistance characteristics.
The coating system does not show any sign of rusting after 5000 hours of testing. Therefore, it is concluded that the coating has excellent corrosion resistance characteristics with a rating of 10 as per ASTM D610.
